Hi Safari Lovers! Every year, Taman Safari Bali shows its commitment to taking care of the environment and community. To mark Earth Day on April 22, 2024, with the theme “Nurture the Nature,” Taman Safari Bali distributed 100 young trees to nearby villages in Gianyar, Bali. Several villages near Taman Safari Bali involved including Serongga Village, Medahan Village, and Lebih Village.

Moreover, Earth Day is a special time to recognize the importance of preserving all life on Earth. Taman Safari Bali is aware of the risks posed by human activities. Illegal building and farming in green areas affected to the balance of our ecosystem.

Earth Day: a Tree for Life

Ida Ayu Ari Janiawati, an Animal Curator at Taman Safari Bali, said, “Our educational team’s goal is to increase awareness about the environment starting with planting trees. So, We hope these trees will make the villages greener and provide small homes for wildlife like birds and squirrels.”

In addition, “This is part of Taman Safari Bali’s commitment to being a place for fun, learning, and wildlife conservation. So, We hope this activity helps to preserve the environment for the villages involved,” said Inneke Ficianirum, Head of Marketing at Taman Safari Bali.

Representatives from Serongga Village, Medahan Village, and Lebih Village symbolically received the young trees. Then, the villagers planted the trees together at chosen spots with a lot of excitement.

I Nyoman Mantriasa, Head of Serongga Village, said, “We support taking care of the environment and thank Taman Safari Bali for working with us.”

Moreover, Taman Safari Bali went the extra mile by organizing a Crafting & Recycle event held at the Balai Banjar within the park premises. This event ingeniously transformed bottle waste into beautifully painted pencil holders and charming flower faces. Not only did it provide an avenue for creative expression, but it also served as a platform to raise awareness. Participants can understand the importance of waste management and recycling.

So, Safari lovers! Let’s celebrate Earth Day by actively doing something to take care of plants and animals. Our efforts to create a sustainable balance benefit all living things on Earth.
