How Many Species of Camel?
Belong to family Camelidae, there are two species of true camels that exist on the planet. First is the Dromedary which has single-hump and native to Africa, Arabia and the Middle East.

To hydrate themselves, Camels known as the fastest drinkers among other animals. They can sip about 30 gallons of water just in 10 minutes. In one gulp, they can immediately drink about 100 liters of water and can survive without water for weeks. What an amazing skills!

Camel hump contains fat that can be used as food reserves if needed. It is actually a concentration of body fat, in form of ‘humps’ to minimize the insulating effect of fat itself.

One of interesting things about camels is that they are the great survivor of the extreme climates in the desert. As you know, desert is famous for its rapid temperature reverse. It can turn out very hot during the day and very cold at night.
With that condition, Camel are able to adapt quickly, makes them known as desert great survivor. They also have the ability to form protective coat to protect themselves during night and shed it during hot day.
