After strolling around at Bali Safari Park for hours, there is nothing better than visiting our Petting Zoo Area! There are actually many animals that you can meet and even feed them!

Continuing the previous article, “Meet Animals at Petting Zoo Area”, now it’s time for Part II to take a look of more animals that can be found there!

Aldabra Giant Tortoise

The fourth animal you can meet and even feed them at Petting Zoo area is The Aldabra Giant Tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantean).

They are endemic to the islands of the Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles. Being one of the largest tortoises in the world, they can weigh up to 250 kilogram and live up for more than 100 years!

Iguanas

Native to tropical areas of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, this is Green Iguana, the next lizard you can see at Bali Safari Park. The word ‘iguana’ is derive from the original Taino name for the species, iwana.

Dusky Wallaby

Next, there is an animal that looks similar to Kangaroo but if you look closely, they are actually not! Yes, The Dusky Wallaby (Thylogale brunii) or known as Pademelon Wallaby is middle-size marsupial mammals that belong to the kangaroo family. Hence, the name pademelon is derive from an aboriginal or native Australian term for ‘small kangaroo from the forest’.

Native to Australia and New Guinea, you dont need to go that far to meet them. Witness them easily at Bali Safari Park and learn more about this mamals here!

Chacoan Mara

Last but not least is The Chacoan Mara (Dolichotis salinicola) or well known as Mara. They are relatively large South American rodent of the cavy family that living in small groups. Here at our Petting Zoo Area, you will see them jump and jump nimbly.

Did you know? Chacoan Mara can run at high speeds from just a few hours after birth! Moreover, the newborn babies can run immediately a few hours after birth, following their parents along.
